Sine Wave Filter are designed to provide a Sine Wave output voltage when driven from Variable Frequency Drives or other types of PWM inverters with switching frequencies from 2kHz to 8kHz.
For Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) applications, Sine Wave Filters eliminate the problem of motor/cable insulation failures, heating, and audible noise. Sine Wave Filters also reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) by eliminating the high dV/dt associated with inverter output waveforms. Bearing currents are also reduced, especially in larger motors above 50 kW.
Sine Wave Filters can handle a wide range of frequencies, from the standard 50 Hz/100 Hz/200 Hz all the way up to 1,600 Hz. Our filters are built to handle a rated voltage of 400V AC and are available in current ratings from 1.3A to 710A, making them suitable for various applications.
Sine wave filters smooth out the power to your motor. They eliminate choppy signals, reducing noise and heat, while extending usable cable lengths. When a Sine Filter is used, the allowable motor cable length can be up to 400 meters. The sinusoidal output voltages reduce discharge currents driven by pulse frequency.
